All I've ever wanted was love. Maybe that is why I preach about it so much. I fear that my generation lacks love so much that when they see someone who is really in need, that they will turn their backs on them without an ounce of guilt on their conscience. As if we are perfect. Forgetting that life could turn on us in an instant. I think life's biggest weapon against us is surprise. The way that it can knock ANYONE off balance. From the most wealthy to the one who feels as if they have nothing else to lose.
Even though our eyes are physically open, spiritually they have been clouded by our choices to see the corruption and chose to do nothing. We as a people have the attitude that it cannot happen to us. So we do everything to set up this shield against life. We idolize money, we steal, we cheat, we leave others in pain because we are so selfish. Have you ever sit and thought about the woman who had everything that she could ever want in this world…but she could not bear a child? It's not just one person. There are many. Or what about the man who has it all but NO ONE wants to be around him. Even when he tries to do something positive, the people know that it's only a cry for attention.
Loneliness can kill a person. So can the burden of not being able to birth your own child. So what can that money really buy? Do you think that woman cares about what money can buy? Do you think that man can buy REAL love? We do so much evil everyday. In traffic, in the workplace, and in our own homes. Why? Why do we do that when we would be MISERABLE without these people?! We look down on others that are not doing as well as we are. We ridicule them. Even worse than that…the people who were once in their position will act as if they have never felt that pain. Just to fit in?
We enslave each other. Owners to companies who are greedy are already doing well. They just keep taking from the people who are keeping their business afloat. How disrespectful is that? When did you get so big that you decide to enslave your fellow human. Why is it so hard to be pure in heart? Then to be disgusted when someone else does it in a different way is hypocrisy at its greatest. Innocent people just needing something to believe in. Like fairness, stability, or even God.
I have always wondered that if there was a way that the wealthy would ever be forced to switch with the poor. But when I recognized that was a question I asked out of hatred, I no longer wished that. I do not want to see people doing badly. People sleeping outside because they have nowhere else to go. People who are eating out of the garbage. But we get angry when someone forgets to put ice in our drinks.
There are SO many positive people in this world. Ready and willing to put forth the effort and the hard work to turn things around. The problem is we are all scattered so far apart. Even though we may live down the street from one another. But we don't notice each other because somehow we slip back into selfishness. Habits don't change over night they say… but think about the last habit you had. It was one night that it stopped. And you didn't notice…because mentally you made up your mind that you were not happy with that habit. Some people don't even notice until you see someone else doing it or you read it like you did here.
So why can't we go to sleep tonight and wake up and want to change the world?
Good habits… like bad habits tend to spread like wildfire. So stop right here and ask yourself…. Am I going to choose to do the wrong thing again even after it has been brought to my attention?
The choice is yours. And if you choose to do the right thing, maybe I will see you out there. A person who has changed for a positive purpose has a different type of smile… It's a nervous smile, but you can see the change in their eyes. I can stop that smile from a 1,000 yards. I will smile back… forever.
So I don't want to pass along the fear, just the message. Will I see you there?
